We had an surprise visit from our friends at the U.S, Enviromental Protection Agency, Region 6 Enforcement Division

They spent most of the day here inspecting each & every truck as well as the premise. Special time was taken inspecting that said speed limiters were installed.

They also inspected each truck for Model & VIN #. They did a thorough site investigation. Complete with pictures & all associasted data from each truck. Asked many questions. One that kept being ask was who do you know or might think are recieving or introducing in to The US commerce, "illegal trucks". (ones without said speed limiters). These guys are trained investigators, do not underestimate them or insult their intelligience. They however were not so forthcoming with the questions ask of them. Best I can surmise is The big Boys in DC or ?? have instructed there Regional offices to do on-site inspections, get all the data they can from interview, Followed by a formal Certified Letter requesting all records of Imports, sales, modifications made, ETC. They will then take the data collected & combine it regionally & nationally to build & or supplement their needs. They had done some previous interviews prior to coming here. They had there ducks in a row & used intell they aquired to probe us. If you are an importer,distributor,or dealer, expect the same visit. Believe me when I say they come prepared & unannounced. They had published data on us back over 2 years. My advice as always is, do not remove speed limiting devices previously installed. We do not approve of it & as you all are aware we have not removed nor assisted there removal of any truck or load of trucks purchased thru us. If you have or recieved trucks from anywhere without them,get them installed now. My understanding is that there is no such thing as a grandfathered truck. ALL TRUCKS MUST HAVE SPEED LIMITERS INSTALLED PRIOR TO BEING INTRODUCED INTO THE US COMMERCE !! Do not listen to the hype or a BS story about this. This is real & these are the facts. Do not purchase any trucks without them installed. Buy thru a reputable importer. Keep accurate records. Be polite & forthcoming, do not make up lies or pass the buck, combined data from interviews can be very damaging and get you in more trouble. Be honest, Be considerate, afterall they are just doing there job.If you decide to put up a fight, expect a Search Warrant & The attentions of U.S. Marshal's. That said there is no reason for panic, this is based on the ruling that we import the trucks by, & confirms what I  posted early last year.This is the laws & or rules or rulings that we all must abide by if we want to continue importing these great little OFF-ROAD UTILITY VEHICLES. They are for Off-Road use only & are not legal for On-Road or Highway use no matter if they are able to be tagged in a few states. These states will jeopardize their funding from the USDOT if they continue to do so. There will be a ruling from the federal level soon to stop these states from allowing them for road use.

Well folks alot has happened over the last few months. First most of the issues regarding the speed limiters seem for now are going to stick. Like it or not all the trucks coming into the US will have to be speed limited. For now they are allowing us to install a steel welded plate limiting the gear shifter to not allow it into any gear that will allow it to exceed 25 MPH. It may change & we are ready to install governors , we have them ready over a 100 on the shelf. Our flow of trucks will not be impacted if this ruling changes.

First & upmost on my mind is to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of our dealers,vendors,customers for there support during these trying times with regards to US Customs & The EPA.

We have now cleared all trucks that were to be nicely said "Held Up " . All of our trucks whether or not they were being detained, or on our lot, we now have the dang speed limiters installed.

The efforts of most of the importers are continuing to get the trucks flowing again. Most agree we have been bringing them in according to current regulations that is right. I agree, but I see the writing on the wall & as I have previously mentioned we are going to have to have the speed limiters installed. Trucks currently held in Customs, & Foreign Trade Zones in the US will have to have the speed limiters installed before they will be released. Future trucks as I understand it will be allowed into the US if said limiters are installed in Japan prior to leaving. We here at SuperMiniTrucks in order to continue have taken such steps. I anticipate that we will have the speed limiters installed on our trucks currently held in a Foreign Trade Zone within the next two weeks.We will be offering those for retail sales. I have way two much in them for wholesale & need to recover what I can. After they are released I expect all the others in the same situation to follow suit. We will start offering wholesale & dealership sales immeadiatly after this occurs. We have bought approx. 84 more nice trucks in Japan & will have the speed limiters installed there & they will be on the water as fast as I can get them installed.
